Sense Of Place Project
Project Essay
Project Reflection
In this project we were asked to find a place i the world the is most important to us. We were then asked to write an essay about our connection to that place, whether that be spiritual, personal, ect. In the lead up to this essay we had numerous guest speakers talking to us about energy. This gave us time to really think deeply about our environmental ethic. So we could then relate our environmental ethic to our sense of place.
In my first draft I had only two paragraphs. These two were very rushed and was me just trying to produce more words. After taking time to just sit down and complete my essay I refined it. I did simple refining at first like fixing grammar mistakes and punctuation errors. But then I rewrote a whole paragraph, this was the same paragraph that was made up of fillers. It made feel great to rewrite the paragraph because it really felt like my words and my beliefs. This essay is something I am proud to call my own. I persevered to make my writing more beautiful, I started by replacing simple words with less common words. I also added metaphors and similes to my words sound to the reader. When I explain a setting or something to visualize, I go into explicit detail so you can see what I saw.
Over the course of writing this essay I took lots of time to reflective. I had my paper reflected twice. Once by a peer and one from a teacher. Both critiques were extremely helpful in my process of writing a strong essay. The most challenging part of this essay was choosing the topic. For the first half of this project I still had no idea what my sense of place. I finally realized what my place in there world was when I went Denver for the weekend.

Happiness and Meaning Essay
Visual Piece
Project Reflection:
If I were to tell someone how to find happiness I would start with something like “What do you enjoy doing most, what activity”. Finding happiness is simply finding what makes you happy. If you enjoy playing basketball, start playing for a team and maybe you'll grow up get a scholarship and then play professionally. What i'm trying to say is that don’t be stuck doing miserable jobs and find a job that you find interesting and fun. If you have a fun job you won’t work a day in your life.
My plan for summer is actually very packed. I will be out of town the most of the time. I will be going to Providence Rhode Island to see my mother's dad for the first time, this is a life changing moment for me because something that has been only been talked about is finally happening . I will also be visiting my dad in L.A. for a little while and that means a lot to me because I don’t always get to see him. This experience has changed my outlook on the world.
Like I said above it has change my outlook on life. It has made me to appreciate smaller things that I just took for granted. Like a smile, a single smile can mean the world to someone. What I learned has changed me to also have a better understanding of life.

The Morality and Politics of Justice Project
In this project my class was asked to write an Op-Ed and create a visual piece to go with it. Our Op-Eds were supposed to be about a political issue we deemed to be important. I believe we should have free higher public education. It is a moral disaster against our students. We should basic colleges the are free.
